I imagine this vintage table has already seen years of card games and coffee cups. And, my client liked it. I figured it just needed a new purpose and little glow-up to be perfect in her new home.Everything else in the room is new: a fresh palette, cozy textures, soft drapery, and furniture designed for comfort and conversation. But the table and chairs found their place, too. A nod to my client’s history, adding warmth and character to her large living room.It’s now the perfect sunny spot for puzzles, morning coffee, or a quiet moment to just be.✨ Design isn’t always about starting from scratch. High Point Market Finds!Trendy or Timeless? Game Tables! The showrooms were loving Mahjong tables this season! This is just a sampling of all the game tables I spotted, from modern statement pieces to timeless classics.I’d call game tables mostly timeless, though the games themselves definitely shift with each generation. Whether it’s puzzles, cards, and now Mahjong! I love how a game table creates a spot for connection and conversation for all ages.One of my recent clients has one, and I’d like to think it has become a great spot for family fun.Personally, I’m ready to host a Mahjong night myself… just need a few pretty tables (and maybe a redesigned family room). I hear it is National Cat Day! 🐈‍⬛When I first sat in this chair at High Point Market over a year ago, I knew I’d find the perfect home for it someday. It’s the kind of chair that looks good AND it’s comfortable! I paired it with this performance fabric from one of my favorite trade-only vendors and it became exactly what this sunlit corner needed.The cat pillow is my client’s and something she already loved. You might guess, she has a black and white cat of her own. Your home shouldn’t look like a showroom (or your neighbors house!). A sunroom transformation! ☀️This space was already full of light and beautiful woodwork — it just needed a softer touch to make it feel warm and inviting. A cozy chair and ottoman in cozy chenille, a classic brass lamp, and patterned Roman shades created the perfect spot for morning coffee, reading, and soaking up the view. And knowing my client, cat cuddles too. 🐾Design should embraces who you are and how you want to move through your home every day.
