This room started out perfectly functional, but my client wanted more than “fine.” He knew something was missing and he didn’t feel truly settled in his home yet.I was happy to help. ☺️We layered in warmth, texture, and pieces with a little weight to them. Thoughtful choices that make the room feel calm and comforting at the end of any day.Every project is different. Every client. Yep, that’s me, sitting with the cool kids.🤓When I was asked to participate on this panel, I said I was flattered and terrified. I’m mostly trying not to think about it, but when I do, I remind myself how much I love the design community. Every time I show up, I’m met with kindness, generosity, and real camaraderie. People who lift me up, inspire me, and help me work through the bumpy stuff. I’ll 100% be nervous, but I’m an Alaskan, so that’s kind of a superpower. We met for an electrical rough-in walkthrough this morning! Dang. It was cold! 🥶 -8!No heat at the job site and my toes were done after an hour and half. The older I get the harder it seems to stay warm! It was too cold to take any other pictures! Glad to be back in the comfort of my office! This room started as a mostly blank slate.Now it’s a place to pause and find respite from the world.We designed this meditation room to feel grounded and calm, with quietly layered details. A space for slowing down, stretching out, reading, breathing… whatever the day needs.This design wasn’t about filling space. It was about creating a sense of calm and grounding, something my client genuinely feels now that he’s living here. And honestly, that’s the whole point.Design that looks good in photos is great. Same guest room…totally different vibe. 😁Now this room says “we’re so glad you’re here!”We take care of the thousand steps between the before and the after; a just-for-you design, followed by procurement, installation, and all the little styling moments that make it feel complete. You get to walk into a perfectly comfortable, welcoming, finished room.Your guests are going to be very happy here. The only thing you have to worry about is guests staying too long!-Kjerstin
